Damian T. Lloyd was born in Manchester, England and moved to Canada at a young age. He has lived in Alberta, British Columbia, the Yukon, and Ontario; currently he resides in Vancouver, BC.
In the past year, Damian has served as on-set Sound Recordist for a feature-length comedy, a one-hour documentary, two dramatic shorts, and a small TV commercial. As a freelance videographer, he has shot and edited public lectures, award presentations, short comedy sketches, and public events. He worked for community television channels in Ontario, BC, and the Yukon.
For three years, Damian was Editor of Independent Voice, the progressive community paper of Kingston, Ontario. He systematized the design, streamlined the workflow, and cultivated a community of contributors. He also performed the desktop-publishing chores to prepare the paper for print, and updated the paper’s website with the full contents of each issue.
Before that, Damian was a founding editor of Write Away (now Island Writer), a magazine promoting the literary arts that is now an established part of the cultural scene of Vancouver Island.
He has also been a freelance writer and editor for such clients as the BC provincial government, the Galiano Island Chamber of Commerce, the National Farmers’ Union, and private clients.
His stage plays have been performed internationally by small theatre troupes. His prose fiction and comics work has been published to some small acclaim.
